GoInformatics Privacy Policy

GoInformatics (GoLIMS®) values your privacy in regards to usage of our website, our web applications and the services we provide to support your needs. GoInformatics makes all commercially viable efforts to protect your privacy. This Privacy Policy covers all GoInformatics products. The policy covers the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that may be collected when interacting with GoInformatics. The collection may occur when visiting the website, using our products and services through a demonstration, trial, license purchase, or when communicating with GoInformatics employees. Please read the following policy to learn more and understand what information we collect, how we may/may not use that information and any personal information.

Definitions

The terms "we," "us,", "GoInformatics", "GoLIMS", and "Company" refer to GoInformatics, Inc.  d/b/a GoLIMS, a incorporated company organized and existing under the laws of the State of Indiana, or any successor or assignee of the Company. We are in the business of providing an online cloud platform that our customers may use to organize, collect and archive research data or professional medical education operations (which, when done using the "Services," as defined below, are referred to as "Information"). The terms "GoInformatics" and "GoLIMS" refer either to the business or the online platform as the context requires. The term "Services" refers to the services offered by GoInformatics. The term "User" refers to an individual or entity who or which is registered with us to use the Services. The term "you" refers to any User (or other party whose contact information has been provided to us over the internet) who is reading this Privacy Policy, or on behalf of whom this policy is being read. The term "Website" refers to both www.goinformatics.com and www.golims.com websites. The term "Personal Information" means information about an individual who is a User and includes any "Supplemental Personal Information," that we obtain. The term "Account" means an aggregate of your data as organized by our platform, that we obtain, and includes any "Supplemental Personal Information." The information in the Account is sometimes referred to herein as "User Data."

Information Collection and Its Use

GoInformatics collects information solely to provide the best customer service and user experience when utilizing our applications. Not only does it allow us to deliver announcements in regards to software updates or special offers, it also enables us to provide personalized customer support. Through the collection of information, we seek to improve the features and usability of our products and services. GoInformatics may collect information in a number of situations to be used strictly for internal business functions such as:



At no point is this data shared with any external third-party vendors with the purpose of utilizing your information for the purposes such as marketing. GoInformatics will retain this data through secured internal systems that is not accessible outside of the relevant GoInformatics employees. All entries into your GoInformatics account are securely stored for archival purposes. The perpetual storage is solely used for accurate record keeping and safe retrieval of data back into your account in case of needed retrieval. While account data is not capable of being deleted by the user, it can be deleted by the GoInformatics team upon request.


You may elect to opt-out/terminate your participation in these services at any time. If you cancel your account, it will no longer be accessible to you or others who may access the service via the GoInformatics platform. GoInformatics may retain residual copies of account information that is related to computer systems used, data backups, archiving and the possible need for data retrieval in the future.


If you wish to opt-out of email marketing sent from GoInformatics, you may reply “unsubscribe” to any email that is sent to you from us. This includes any application updates and solicitations.

GoInformatics Username

The GoInformatics web applications allow creation of a “username” that is typically based on your email address and associated personal information. This type of username is recommended in order to take full advantages of the GoInformatics services such as account notifications, customer support inquiries, and application release notices containing new feature and functionality information.

Public Access to Information

Certain portions of the GoInformatics applications can be made accessible to the general public when a registered account user creates a shared hyperlink to the data in their account.  Any information that is stored in this link’s location is capable of being read, collected and used by anyone.  By default, no information will be made public but account information is capable of being shared publicly by registered users in your account. Thus, it is important that you and associated users in the account understand and consider how to best utilize the services GoInformatics provides. It is solely your responsibility to control whether public access is made available to content for which you have been granted the ability to control public access.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

When you post information on the GoInformatics website including but not limited to, requests for demonstrations, additional information, or support, you are granting GoInformatics permission to use and take actions on such information (see: Terms of Services). We will never share, sell, rent or give out your information to third parties except under the specific conditions specified in this Privacy Policy. 


We will use and disclose the information in your Account with third parties only for one or more of the following purposes: 

Tracking Technologies

A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while a user is browsing a website or web application. The cookie is saved on your hard drive and may include an anonymous unique identifier. A cookie will not retrieve any data from your computer outside of your browser such as personal files, passing of computer viruses, email address or other personal information. The GoInformatics website and services use cookies in order to authenticate users, keep track of preferences, and potential campaigns that require our audience size and aggregated traffic patterns. You can change the settings in your browser to accept cookies, reject cookies or to notify you whenever there is a website that request using your browser’s cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, GoInformatics cannot guarantee full functionality of all the features we provide. 


We may at times include pixels (a 1x1 graphic image) in emails or newsletters in order to determine if messages are opened and/or included hyperlinks were viewed. If you wish to disable pixel tracking, you may turn off HTML display within your web browser or to limit displaying only the text within the email. 


We do not allow third-party business partners to display advertisements within our website and associated applications.

Links

The service may contain links to third-party websites. These third-party websites are not under GoInformatics control. If GoInformatics has included these links in the service, we provide them to you as a convenience only. The inclusion of these links is not an endorsement by GoInformatics of any third-party website, service or product. GoInformatics reserves the right to disable links to any third-party website that you or other customers post on the service. This privacy policy applies solely to the information collected on this website and does not apply to the privacy policy employed by external, third-party web sites.

Data Security

GoInformatics is committed to protecting your information and will take every reasonable precaution to safeguard your information. Despite our efforts, data transferred over the Internet can never be 100% guaranteed secured and, as such, we cannot entirely ensure the security when information is transmitted to us. By using our services, you understand that the transmission of data is done so at your own risk. Once data is accepted into our system, all commercially viable and reasonable efforts to protect your data are executed including:


If at any time GoInformatics learns of a security breach to our application or associated infrastructure that affects your account, we will attempt to notify you and provide information on potentially protective steps. If available, we will notify you via email to the address(es) specified in your account and may call you if the situation is deemed necessary and feasible. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive this notice in writing.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

GoInformatics complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). While our content on the website and associated applications are not directed to children under the age of 13, we will require age verification for any situations that may result in a GoInformatics’ customer being under the age of 13. If at any time we learn we have inadvertently collected information through online forms from children under the age of 13, the data will be promptly deleted.

For Our International Users

All of GoInformatics servers reside in the U.S, therefore it should be noted that any data sent into GoInformatics applications will be stored in the United States. By using the service, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country or region. GoInformatics abides by the safe harbor framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of data from the European Union.

Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective with respect to all data that we have collected, or collect, about and/or from you, both prior to your registration as a User and/or during the Term, in accordance with the Terms of Use.  


This privacy policy will be updated whenever necessary. In order to keep you updated, we will revise and display the date of the most recent changes or updates to privacy policy at the top of this document. It is the user’s sole responsibility to periodically review the privacy policy for any changes that may have been made to protect your personal information. Your continued use of the GoInformatics services confirms your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any subsequent updates to the Privacy Policy.
